ABOUT THE ARTIST
Martine Ipperciel, a wildlife artist known as "Maiel," was born in Montreal in June 1976. From childhood, she demonstrated boundless creativity, driven by a deep passion for wildlife and nature.
In 1985, while living in the Upper Laurentians, she developed a strong connection with animals and wild landscapes, particularly through dog sledding. This intimate connection with nature guides her artistic work.
Her career began with notable drawings, before she moved on to oil and acrylic painting. Since 2012, Maiel has been exhibiting works in which the representation of wild animals and their expressive gazes are at the heart of her approach. Today, she lives in the Outaouais region, where she continues to draw inspiration from nature.
His spontaneous and emotional style creates a bridge between the observer and the animal soul, inviting a sensitive journey to the heart of emotions and wildlife.
ARTISTIC APPROACH
My approach draws on nature and wildlife as my main sources of inspiration. Each animal's gaze is for me a window onto a deep emotion that I seek to convey.
I work on canvas and wood panels, combining spontaneity and technical mastery to bring wild animals to life. I play with light, shadows, and relief to create compositions full of emotion and mystery.
Guided by instinct, I seek to establish a dialogue between the viewer, the animal and its natural environment, in order to provoke an intimate and authentic connection.
